These are really fun. This is the website for the free pattern: Saartje Knits I have one more to go for the pair.
I used my own handspun yarn for this...which makes me even more proud! Handknit on size 3 double points. They'll fit a 3-6 month old baby, probably...or a really chubby-footed newborn!
Yippee!
First two-at-once, toe-up magic-loop socks with figure 8 cast on! I'm sure it won't be my last. I will certainly try new yarns, colorways, patterns, etc, but I'm loving the two at once!!!
I dyed the sock yarn (Kraemer 'Jeannie', 80% Superwash Merino/20% Nylon) using Wilton paste dyes in a vinegar and water soak. Being that these are going to be worn inside of shoes and I want to try to spare the recipient (SerialCrafter of Craftster.org) any fading problems, I set the color twice just to be sure the colors would not leech out.
I'm now a sock fiend and will try to spin up some sock yarn in the near future! Click on the photos to see larger images.
Oooooo....look! My dream of someone using MY handspun yarn to create a beautiful garment has come to fruition! Altair's Vinyard has become a gorgeous lace scarf! You may remember that I had a swap with Altair for those great Pysanky Eggs. This is what she came up with for the yarn I spun and dyed for her. Altair, you make me proud!!!
