RM's First Weaving Project

RM's First Weaving Project
This is my first weaving project on my new LeClerc Iris Table Loom (with stand). I knew better than to start a large project without having a warping buddy or at least someone to watch my four year old little girl while I did it. I have only read books and viewed photo tutorials on the internet, so I'm sure that this 'small' experience of warping just 54 threads will help me better understand the whole process. I've achieved a good tension, I believe. Maybe someone with a little more experience could tell me if they see something that I could fix. I only have a hair comb to work with for a reed, as the reed that came with the loom is 12 dpi and I need about a 20 for what I want to do. Also, I know I will go back to front next time, as passing the warp through the heddles twice made my cotton all fuzzy. YES...I knew it was going to happen, per the books and message boards I frequent...I only did it front to back this time because I didn't have a raddle and the heddles were a big help in keeping it straight while warping the back beam. I chose red, dark pink and light pink in honor of Valentine's Day. I love the pattern. Little squares with a dot in the middle. All critiques and suggestions completely welcome! RM

Looks good - I've always wanted to try my hand at weaving. I don't know that I have the patience for it though. Lack of patience is why I don't knit or crochet, as well. :p

Thanks! I'm sure I'll get faster, but it did take me about thirty minutes of weaving just to get three inches done! So, look at it this way...while you can take fabulous photographs and deal with endless bells, whistles, lighting, etc., I have to rely on automatic 'point and shoot' technology to take a semi-decent photo. You're definitely blessed to have your skills. :-)
